What you will be doing:

 

The Business Development Representative will play a critical role in advancing ASSA ABLOY’s innovative solutions. This position focuses on building strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as distributors, integrators, A&E firms, contractors, and end users. By collaborating with internal teams, this role drives the adoption and growth of cutting-edge technologies, ensuring seamless integration and successful market expansion. This high-visibility role requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles. Frequent travel and engagement with decision-makers are essential to achieving success in this position.

 

Key areas you will contribute to the role include:

 

Market development:

 

  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including end users, A&E firms, and channel partners, to drive opportunities.

 

Sales Support:

 

  • Collaborate with DSS sales teams to achieve revenue growth.
  • Act as a liaison between channel partners and internal teams.

 

Strategic planning:

 

  • Conduct market research to inform strategies.
  • Develop regional business plans and tools for technology adoption.

 

Customer engagement:

 

  • Use consultative sales techniques to generate demand and manage complex sales cycles.
  • Represent ASSA ABLOY at trade shows and events.

 

Collaboration:

 

  • Work with ASSA ABLOY divisions to leverage resources and enhance customer value.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support product rollouts.

 

Technology integration:

 

  • Understand and support emerging technologies.
  • Assist in migrating technologies to mainstream business and identifying new opportunities.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of low voltage connectivity.
  • Onboard new channel partners for technology solutions.

 

Performance goals:

 

  • Meet revenue targets for assigned technologies.

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • You demonstrate foundational knowledge of network protocols, including:
  • Understanding IP addressing and basic configuration.
  • Familiarity with key protocols such as TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and DNS (Domain Name System).
  • Supporting network reliability and performance through troubleshooting.
  • Configuring network devices to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Applying basic concepts of reliable data delivery, including acknowledgment and retransmission mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and technical discussions.
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • You have strong relationship-building, selling, and influencing skills.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about selling a full range of door opening solutions.
  • You are detail-oriented, organized, and known for follow-up habits.
  • You can work independently but believe in teamwork.
  • You’re a strong communicator, active listener, and negotiator.
  • Ability to travel (up to 70%) and meet to the requirements of customers.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

 

Education and/or experience:

 

  • Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for a Bachelor’s degree and specialization in related curricula), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in hardware, security, or related industry.

 

ASSA ABLOY offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a 401(k) plan, education assistance, and an environment that reflects our commitment to our employees. The wage range for this role is 100k - 140k plus bonus and includes a company car. The wage range considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs. This salary range is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
