We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer with minimum 5-year experience in C++ development. Seeking a candidate with previous experience with OpenCV, Image Processing, DirectShow, Video4Linux.

This position involves designing, improving, tailoring, and supporting our system solutions by engaging in various analytical and development tasks.

 

The individual in this role will be responsible for multiple facets of software design focused on SDK development, including system architecture, definition, integration, and debugging. Additionally, the Senior Software Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and resolve complex technical challenges. 

The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving innovation and maintaining high standards of software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Essential Duties

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions to meet business and technical requirements. 
  • Analyse and evaluate software requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine product specifications. 
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues to ensure system reliability and performance. 
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to maintain high engineering standards. 
  • Document software designs, processes, and procedures in line with company and industry best practices. 

 

Primary Duties

  • Lead or contribute to the design and architecture of new features and system enhancements. 
  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure effective hardware/software integration. 
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 
  • Work with quality assurance, product management, and customer support to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance product performance, security, and maintainability. 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices relevant to software engineering and device control. 

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in C++ software development. 
  • Experience developing SDKs (Software Development Kits) for Windows applications. 
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and the software development lifecycle. 
  • Experience with source code management tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Utilise established CI/CD pipelines and tools to efficiently build, test, and deploy software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience developing SDKs (Software Development Kits) for Linux applications. 
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages such as C, C#, or Java.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Previous experience in the security, identity, or access control industry. 

 

Work Requirements 

  • Compliance with all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems. 
  • Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
