Role Summary: The Accounts Officer will play a vital role in maintaining financial records, payroll processing, tax compliance, and GST reporting. This position requires attention to detail and adherence to regulatory requirements.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  1. Book Keeping and Accounting Function
  • Regularly maintain books of accounts following the required framework.
  • Prepare draft un-audited monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and perform periodic reconciliation with customers and suppliers.
  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Coordinate with agencies for annual, statutory, and tax audits.
  • Account for invoices and receipts.
  • Prepare Monthly Cash Flow.
  • Handle accounting and payments for employee travel and expenses.
  • Manage vendor payments.
  • Submit monthly Management Information System (MIS) to Manager – Finance.
  • Prepare Payment MIS.

 

  1. Payroll Processing and Human Resource Compliance Service
  • Handle payroll functions and related statutory compliances.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding Profession Tax, Provident Fund, Employees’ State Insurance (ESIC), and Labor welfare fund.
  • Maintain records of appointment, termination, resignation, and increments.
  • Maintain a leave register based on information from the HR Department.
  • Calculate and disburse monthly salaries.
  • Deduct required amounts from employee emoluments as per regulations.
  • Prepare Challan for payment of TDS on salary, Profession Tax, ESIC, Provident Fund, and Labor welfare fund.
  • Generate Form no. 16 for all employees (certificate for tax withheld).
  • Obtain declarations and proof of investment for tax purposes.
  • File withholding tax returns/ TDS Returns.

 

  1. Income Tax Compliance Service
  • Prepare quarterly statements of tax deducted at source.
  • Process and issue withholding tax certificates.
  • Calculate advance-tax liabilities on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare tax computations based on provided information.
  • Prepare and e-file Corporate Return.

 

  1. GST Compliance Services
  • Determine GST liability after accounting for input credits.
  • Prepare monthly statements and process payments for GST payable.
  • Coordinate the filing and processing of GST returns.
  • Prepare annual accounts for GST purposes for self-assessment.

 

  1. Sales
  • Prepare and raise sales invoices.
  • Account for Sales, Debtors, debit notes, and credit notes.
  • Maintain records and reconcile statutory forms.
  • Collect statutory forms from Customers.

 

  1. Import Purchase, Local Purchases and Inventory Accounting
  • Process import invoices, local purchase invoices related to Purchase orders, agreements, BOI, and packing lists.
  • Account for purchases.
  • Process payments to creditors.
  • Maintain inventory records as per statutory norms and deadlines.

 

 

Key competences:

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulously maintain financial records and ensure accuracy.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay updated with tax and accounting regulations.
  • Time Management: Meet deadlines for financial reporting and compliance.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively communicate in English and Hindi.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office and accounting software Tally Prime.

 

 

Requirements:

 

Education: B.Com with CA Inter/MBA Finance.

Languages: English (Critical), Hindi (Critical)

Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Tally Prime.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in Manufacturing, Import, Logistics, CA Firm, or Consultancy.
  • Prior experience with an MNC is advantageous.
