We are looking for an experienced Senior/Staff Automation Engineer to join our newly forming engineering team based out of Prague, Czech Republic. The team will be small, self-managed and composed of a scrum master and four engineers who will be independent thinkers and proactive problem-solvers, unafraid of complex technical challenges. As our Staff Software Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 


  • Contributing to the architecture, design, and development of new product features, components, workflows, proof of concept prototypes, interfaces. Work on repaying technical debt and making sure our products are the best they can be
  • Taking part in Scaled Agile software development process performing tasks including coding and testing modules, maintaining, and tuning applications and related components
  • Participating in troubleshooting/task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities
  • Ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with specific internal procedures and standards, as well as industry best practices
  • Ensuring and demonstrating code quality through comprehensive and effective unit testing coverage
  • Take responsibility for maintaining and continuously developing testing frameworks and actual automation testing of backend platform. This includes everything from unit testing down to full scale automated integration testing. It is given, that tests are always part of wider platform (TestTrack Pro)

  • Experience with automation testing and passion for automation-
  • Basics of software engineering such as git, unit testing, sql fundamentals and rest api are taken for granted
  • Familiar with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React is a big plus
  • Respect for Computer Science fundamentals, design patterns, and development best practices
  • Understanding of Agile Methodology and Principles is a must



Your Experience and Education include:             


  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred). Candidates with an equivalent education plus relevant work experience may also be considered
  • 5+ years of development experience in high level language
  • 5+ years of development experience in backend systems
  • Experience in working with Docker and deployment and delivery of complex solutions within cloud services 
  • Fluently communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.           
  • Working knowledge of Czech or Slovak is an advantage
