As our Solutions Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

 

  • Serving as a technical presales expert within the Sales team, strengthening customer engagements through tailored demonstrations, technical guidance, and structured tender support
  • Developing and delivering high-impact solution demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and presentations that clearly communicate HID Global’s value to government and enterprise customers
  • Preparing detailed proposals and tender documentation for complex opportunities, ensuring compliance with government procurement requirements and alignment with customer technical needs
  • Interpreting and refining customer requirements in collaboration with regional Sales, Product Management, and Engineering teams, ensuring proposed solutions address national authority use cases such as law enforcement, civil ID, and border management
  • Providing complete technical content for RFPs, RFIs, and government tenders, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and clarity
  • Architect, validate, and document biometric and identitymanagement solutions across HIDs portfolio, ensuring alignment with missioncritical government environments
  • Acting as HID Global’s primary technical liaison throughout presales and post-sales phases, ensuring consistent communication, clarity on deliverables, and alignment between customer expectations and internal teams
  • Maintaining deep awareness of market trends, biometric technologies, and public-sector digital transformation initiatives
  • Representing HID Global's technical capabilities at trade shows, partner events, and government briefings, delivering professional demonstrations and solution walkthroughs

Primary Duties:

  • Collaborating weekly with an international presales and solutions engineering team, sharing best practices and supporting cross-regional opportunities
  • Supporting Sales across Central, Eastern European and DACH regions, including travel for onsite demonstrations, workshops, and government stakeholder engagements
  • Focusing on presales activities for HID’s commercial and ABIS solutions, especially for small-to-medium national authorities, civil registry agencies, and security ministries

 

 

Your Experience and Background include:  

 

  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of presales and customer-facing technical experience, including demonstrations, requirements analysis, and support
  • Proven experience engaging with national authorities, such as Police agencies, Ministries of Interior/Justice, civil ID programs, or similar public-sector clients
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with a focus on server / client solution architecture
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, particularly for non-technical and government audiences
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude with an ability to engineer customer-centric solutions that drive sales success
  • Deep understanding of the hardware and software development lifecycle and technical solution delivery
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux Server environments, networking protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, SMTP, HTTPS), and enterprise networking standards
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages for adapting or creating demo environments
  • Hands-on experience with development platforms or compilers (Android Studio, Visual Studio, etc.)
  • Proven ability to configure, test, and validate server/client systems
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several presales engagements simultaneously in a hybrid/remote environment
