We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join our newly forming engineering team based out of Prague, Czech Republic. The team will be small, self-managed and composed of a scrum master and four engineers who will be independent thinkers and proactive problem-solvers, unafraid of complex technical challenges. As our Scrum Master, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Fulfilling the tasks and responsibilities of a Scrum Master as dictated by SAFe Agile
  • Taking part in Scaled Agile software development process performing tasks including coding and testing modules, maintaining, and tuning applications and related components. Immersing in deeper aspects of SAFe
  • Participating in troubleshooting/task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities
  • Ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with specific internal procedures and standards, as well as industry best practices
  • Even though the Scrum Master role does not require coding or any specific engineering activity, the Scrum Master will be expected to maintain a very solid technical understanding of all engineering activities and of the product/project

  • Thorough experience with the Scrum Master position
  • High level of personal accountability, as evidenced by their commitment, resilience, ownership, and mindset toward continuous learning
  • Comfortable communicating with development teams, product owners and businesspeople in English. Good understanding of accented English, such as eastern European, Indian, or US English. Communication is key for this role. Engineers can get by with limited English because the Scrum Master role facilitates communication
  • Continuous improvement – must be constantly growing one’s craft, learning new tools and techniques, and sharing these within and among teams
  • Understand that their role in the organization is broader than the details included in this job description
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to work with diverse personality types across different cultures. HID is not very process-oriented, it is flexible, agile, and based on interpersonal communication and relationships.
  • Innate ability to understand and master new skills quickly and grasp previously unknown concepts with ease

 

 

Your Experience and Education include:   

          

  • Master’s degree in any related field, be it diplomacy, psychology, or software engineering
  • Willingness and ability to apply oneself and learn everything necessary at an accelerated pace
  • The candidate should have extensive previous experience in the Scrum Master position
  • Experience in leadership positions is considered an advantage
  • Experience in an engineering role, such as QA, is a strong advantage
  • A previous career in enterprise and deep understanding of how large companies operate
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing with non-native English speakers
  • Knowledge of Czech or Slovak is considered an advantage
