PURPOSE OF THE ROLE |
As Marketing Coordinator, reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Director, you will be responsible for defining and leading the organization’s marketing strategy and branding requirements as well as achieving measurable revenue growth directly attributed to defined marketing activities and presence. This position suits a technically minded marketing person who can understand the IDS product basket, our market position, competitors and suitable channels; and thrives on change management in a challenging and dynamic market environment. Position will require extensive interaction with customers, sales and technical teams and demands high energy levels and ability to work under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES |
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement marketing strategy and campaigns for IDS and all its brands that fall under the IDS umbrella.
- Implement digital marketing strategy and campaigns
- Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns
- Oversee the implementation of the social media strategy
- Work in partnership with business unit heads, sales team and other stakeholders to find and guide content for social media and websites
- Assist in design, content writing, image creation and marketing support as required
- Identify new trends in digital marketing, evaluate new technologies and ensure the brand is at the forefront of industry developments, particularly developments in social media and digital marketing
- Ongoing research into social media on changes and updates, best times for posting and differences per market and country
- Full co-ordination of projects. E.g.: Layout, print production, receipt, quality checks and distribution
- Attend product training, launches and networking events
- Stay up to date with Yale EMEIA campaigns, video, content, articles and other material on brand portal for use in local territories.
- Localize content, supplied by the EMEIA & Global Yale brand team, and filter relevant content for the South African and African markets
- Support the New Product Development team in creating artwork for packaging of new products, or updating products, according to the Yale brand CI guidelines
Websites:
- Manage and maintain the IDS corporate website
- Write and optimise content for the website and social networking accounts such as Facebook and Twitter, LinkedIn and future options
- Continually work on the Search Engine Optimization of the website(s)
- Ensure articles written and back-end align with SEO requirements
- Highlight and fix any errors or bugs in online content as required
- Edit and post videos, podcasts, images and audio content to online sites
- Track and analyse website traffic flow and provide regular internal reports
- Attain key performance indicators such as reducing the website bounce rate, increasing dwell time or improving conversion
- Create online banner adverts and coordinate pay per click (PPC) ad management
Social media:
- Coordinate the social media content plan according to marketing plan
- Write posts for checking by marketing lead
- Find or create appropriate imagery, video, or audio as necessary
- Schedule posts
- Answer comments and queries on the site with supervision by marketing team leads
- Ensure customer queries are passed on to the correct people internally for resolution and follow up to ensure contact is made
Emailers:
- Identify with marketing leads what product, promotional and other emailers are required to be sent to the customer and other databases
- Write copy for email marketing campaigns
- Develop the emailer on mailchimp
- Ensure mailchimp account is up to date and maintained
- Send out emailers once approved by marketing leads
Key Deliverables
- Ensure that the marketing function aligns with business strategy and meets incremental revenue objectives directly attributed to defined marketing activities on a monthly basis
- Maintain and manage the website, website analytics account and the intranet relating to marketing activities
- Manage, refine and grow the Company’s marketing database.
- Ensure all product and solutions materials are current, relevant and available
- Implement a strong working relationship with the sales team to deliver an effective partner marketing capability
- Provide management with the relevant monthly reports and statistical information regarding sales & marketing trends
ESSENTIAL PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS |
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing
- 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing role including managing of digital marketing and graphic design aspects and platforms
- Design experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design
- Experience with Mail Chimp or similar packages
- Experience in managing Google Analytics to generate website reports and useable data
- Experience with social medial marketing
- Meticulous attention to the detail demanded in our technical environment
- Independent and self-motivated
- Exceptional communication and people skills
- Strong team and business partnership abilities
- Reliable and able to travel as and when required
- Ability to prioritise and manage business requirements
Language Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English environment verbally and in writing
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, et.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
