Manufacturing Engineer

Independently plans, designs, evaluates, and improves manufacturing processes for mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies. Applies Lean principles and manufacturability practices to improve quality, cost, and efficiency.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Apply working knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-magnetic assembly design and manufacturing methods.
- Develop and refine assembly processes, procedures, and production methods using Lean and Continuous Improvement tools.
- Analyze and resolve manufacturing and product issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, assemble, procure, or modify tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve efficiency.
- Perform documentation updates (example: work instructions and equipment) within Change Management procedures.
- Apply tools like DFM, DFA, VAVE, and FMEA to evaluate and enhance manufacturability.
- Collaborate with product designers to provide manufacturability recommendations throughout design and launch.
- Performs activities and owns projects in area of expertise of moderate to high complexity, where limited precedents are available.
- Provides practical and timely solutions to a wide range of problems, balancing cost, benefit, and impact.
- Works independently with minimal supervision, determining project scope and execution approach. Maintains accountability for project cost, schedule, and deliverables.
- Identifies recurring issues, develops data-driven solutions, and contributes to long-term process improvement strategies.
- Ensure conformance to ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in Manufacturing
- Strong proficiency in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Tooling, Equipment and Tester Development, CAD/PLM Systems, ERP/MES systems, and statistical analysis in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Project Management, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Basic proficiency in Automation & Robotics, Quality Management System (QMS), VAVE, GD&T and Tolerance Stackup Analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) tools.
- Ability to analyze data, follow structured problem-solving guidance and influence cross-functional decisions.
- Familiarity and interaction with other departments like: Quality, Operations, Procuring, Finance, Product Management, Project Management, Sales, Continuous Improvement, etc.
- Preferable software: MS Office, SolidWorks, JD Edwards, Thrive Lean Tech, Team Center, Jira/Confluence, Power BI.
