Industrial Engineer



This individual will plan and oversee layout, flow, and efficiency of equipment, office, and production facilities including analysis of current state of the operation and collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to determine ROI on investing effort for improvement.    



To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:


  • Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization.  Documents results of observations in written work instructions and standard work.   


  • Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety via factory industrial design. 


  • Improve labor productivity/efficiency through collaborative efforts at optimizing facility layout, labor allocation, work force utilization, and workflow/methods. Includes scoping and facilitating kaizen events.


  • Process breakdown analysis inclusive of 5 whys, fishbone diagram, and root cause/corrective action problem-solving.   


  • Assists in the development/maintenance of a work scheduling and measurement system.


  • Heavy focus on the ability to apply Lean production principles and practices to the manufacturing environment


  • Capable of analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, material flow, assembly methods and work force to maximize efficiency.


  • Engages with the Facilities/Maintenance Department to consult on or lead facility improvement projects.


  • Other duties may be assigned.



Education and/or Experience:

  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other relevant technical discipline with 5 years experience
  • OR possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering with experience requirement waived 
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
