Associate Software Engineer

As an Associate Software Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced developers to build and enhance enterprise software that powers real-world construction projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 

As part of our engineering team, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of our software platform while continuing to expand your technical skills.

• Develop and maintain software using Java, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement new features.
• Evaluate enhancement requests and help identify technical solutions.
• Contribute to automated testing and overall software quality.
• Maintain technical documentation and coding standards.
• Learn and apply modern development tools, frameworks, and best practices.
• Participate in troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous product improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. 

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree, coding bootcamp completion, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming using Java.
• Familiarity with Java frameworks such as:
• Spring Framework
• Hibernate / JPA
• Awareness of servlet containers such as Jetty.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Working knowledge of Git version control.
• Experience using IntelliJ IDEA.
• Familiarity with SQL databases, including:
• Writing SQL queries
• JDBC connectivity
• ORM-based data access
• Understanding of object-oriented, component-oriented, and service-oriented design principles.
• Exposure to GWT / SmartGWT is a plus. We currently use SmartGWT Enterprise 14.1 and welcome interest in both frontend and backend development.
