Associate, Configuration Manag

 

Responsible for supporting changes to engineering data and product configuration within the JD Edwards enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Coordinates documentation release through the Change Request process, utilizing cross departmental support for successful implementations. Review changes and follow procedures to update ERP data and product data management (PDM) documentation.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

 

  • Manage the Change Request process by making sure required data is provided, obtain required approvals, support process changes, coordinate implementations, and archive information.
  • Maintain part data quality and integrity in the ERP system by maintaining item master and branch modules, as well as maintaining bill of materials (BOM) structures.
  • Perform working knowledge of data attributes such as routers, pricing, costs, where-used, BOM structure, product structure, data consistency that impacts cross-functional teams within the ERP system.
  • Assist others in understanding how data and processes interact between systems.
  • Review and analyze the impact of a change that will be communicated for implementation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate implementation meetings for revision-controlled design documentation changes with engineering, planning, operations, quality, procurement, customer service, product management, marketing, project management, and finance while ensuring the data entry accuracy of each of the engineering changes.
  • Support and track progress of changes through programs(s) used to request and document the change requests. Programs include: Thrive, Team Center and Smartsheets.
  • Support and update label templates and software used to print internal labels.
  • Update work instructions and checklists used to manage changes to the ERP system and Change Management process.
  • Capture and update data for KPIs and exception reports.
  • Performs system queries for data gathering purposes to support engineering, planning, operations, quality, procurement, customer service, product management, marketing, project management, and finance.
  • Performs audits of engineering and design drawings compared to ERP system BOM’s and other data attributes to ensure data accuracy.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience.
  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or some college courses preferred or

equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills

  • Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, and related applications.
  • Basic proficiency with the Company ERP system modules: Master, Branch, BOM’s.
  • Basic experience with Outlook / Teams.
  • Ability to learn other applications like Teamcenter, Thrive, Smartsheets, or others as needed for department support.
