Service Technician
SUMMARY
Perform inspections, repairs and upgrades on Megadoors and other large industrial doors located in the United States.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform PM inspections, repairs, modifications and upgrades on vertical lifting fabric doors, Tip Ups, Bi-Fold and rolling “industrial” doors
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical components, and electrical schematics
- Interact with the customer as necessary
- Troubleshoot door components and recommend the best course of action to fit the customer’s needs and achieve customer satisfaction
- Properly maintain Company equipment and tools
- Accomplish Department and Company goals
- Provide assistance with additional duties as directed by the department manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of company history/organization
- Knowledge of complete product line and product design
- Knowledge of reading plans, specifications, and other construction documents necessary to resolve issues
- Skill in time management, communication and organization
- Skill in the use of computers – Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to work independently, well under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively & professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Must be self-motivated
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school or GED required
- 7+ years of mechanical-related experience preferred in the industrial door market
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to pass Full Government background checks as well as a random drug test
- Scheduled working hours are Monday through Friday other hours to be expected to meet customer needs
- Must be willing to work flexible and additional hours as needed
- Must be able to lift 100lbs
- This is a 75% travel job
- Must have the ability to work at heights up to 100 ft with aerial lifts & fall protection equipment
