Senior Accountant
SUMMARY:
Assists Finance Manager with financial reporting and analysis for the HLAD Americas operation. Provides financial support by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and reporting, compliance with GAAP and month end close procedures. Prepare Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and assist in yearly and quarterly budgeting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and Company’s Internal Control principles
- Full Monthly Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
- Loading the balance sheet and P&L into OneStream during Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the close
- Perform, Review, Validate and report ICT and SFC transactions and balances Assist in preparing financial statements and producing the budget according to schedule
- Assist with directing internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Other projects as directed by the Finance Manager
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in Accounting, preferred CPA.
- Proven experience as a senior accountant
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Knowledge in sales and/vs use tax
- Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills such as VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Ability to work independently or as a team member
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people
- Eager and positive attitude.
- Strong work ethic, flexibility to work under tight deadlines, strong interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to travel up to 10%
- Must be willing to work flexible and additional hours if needed
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Prolonged use of keyboard and computer.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. periodically.
- Frequent use of fine motor skills for writing, and computer work.
