Installation Technician

     

 

SUMMARY

Reports directly to the Installation & Service Operations Manager and takes direct orders to assist in the installation of the Vertical Lift Fabric Door (VLFD) and Horizontal Rolling Door products (HRD).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for field installation of Megadoor VLFD & HRD products
  • Ensures that materials are properly installed based on the specifications set forth in the design drawings and as inspected by the Foreman
  • Adheres to and enforces all safety rules and regulations to ensure that all personal safety and the safety of others is maintained as priority number one.
  • Responsible for taking direction from Installation Foreman during field installations and adhering to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the safe and proper installation of products.
  • Authorized to “stop work” if an activity is deemed to be unsafe.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports and reject material if the quality is determined to be detrimental to product performance.
  • Up to 90% travel required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Field installation experience or general construction experience
  • Company provided training OSHA, 1st Aid, and CPR Training           
  • Knowledge of applicable construction techniques
  • Comprehension and understanding of construction drawings
  • Experience using safety methods for fall protection, rigging, and heavy equipment operation
  • Motivated, organized self-starter, ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school or GED minimum required
  • Proven experience in mechanical, structural, or general construction positions
  • One (1) year of commercial door experience; three (3) years preferred
  • Three (3) years of industrial or high-performance door education
  • AWS welding certified a plus not required

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

 

  • Must be able to pass Full Government background checks as well as a random drug test 
  • Scheduled working hours are Monday through Friday other hours to be expected to meet customer needs
  • Must be willing to work flexible and additional hours as needed
  • Must be able to lift 100lbs 
  • This is a 90% travel job 
  • Must have the ability to work at heights up to 100 ft with aerial lifts & fall protection equipment
