Industrial Door Field Installation Technician
SUMMARY
Perform installation, commissioning, and startup activities for Megadoor vertical lift fabric door systems and horizontal rolling door systems throughout North America. While primarily focused on installation activities, this role supports service and maintenance operations as business needs require.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL FIELD OPERATIONS SUPPORT
Field Operations personnel support installation, service, inspection, modernization, commissioning, warranty, and repair activities. While primarily assigned to Installation functions, technicians may support service activities, warranty work, and other field operation’s needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Install Megadoor vertical lift fabric door and horizontal rolling door systems.
• Assemble structural, mechanical, electrical, and control components.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and specifications.
• Support commissioning and startup activities.
• Operate lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, and rigging equipment.
• Support service, preventative maintenance, modernization, and warranty activities as required.
• Complete service reports, expenses, and field documentation.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions exist.
• Other tasks assigned by Field Operations Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges and troubleshooting.
• Possess problem resolution skills and can work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Hands-on experience in industrial or commercial construction, mechanical or electrical systems, maintenance, door systems, ironworking, structural steel, or related trades preferred. Experience as an Ironworker, Millwright, Electrician, or similar skilled trades professional is highly valued.
TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• 85-90%+ travel. Ability to access military & restricted government facilities (required: US citizen or green card holder)
• Typical schedule averages 18 consecutive days on assignment followed by 3 days at home.
• Ability to work regularly at heights exceeding 100 feet.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work in aviation, military, manufacturing, shipbuilding, mining, and industrial facilities.
