HID’s Software Engineering Department:
As a member of the Software Engineering department, you will be responsible for managing various biometric software application development projects in an Agile environment. You will establish software development processes and ensure adherence to those processes. Also, you will work with sales engineering and product management to ensure that all software is developed with clear, testable requirements.
As our Software Project Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Collaborating with Solutions Engineering, Product Management and Customers to analyze requirements, gather the level of estimates (LOE), plan the sprint deliverables, and ensure the success all the way through the end with final acceptance.
- Serving as a liaison/product owner for the Scrum Teams to provide clarity to the development team to balance customer projects, product requests and internal development priorities.
- Managing Jira backlog and sprints, create user stories, develop acceptance criteria, and enforce the Definition of Done.
- Facilitating daily scrum meetings, weekly backlog refinement, sprint planning based on quarterly planning, releases, and sprint reviews which includes sprint retrospectives to help teams continuously improve their practice to ensure maximum productivity.
- Protecting the team from the scope creep by having full transparency with stakeholders thus ensuring changes are evaluated and intentional.
- Strategizing with other Scum Masters / Project Managers, both onsite and offshore, to proactively resolve resource problems, roadblocks, and priority conflicts.
- Assessing situations to provide data that helps determine importance, urgency, and risks, and make decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Coaching the teams throughout the scrum process which ultimately leads to better planning, so the team does not have to worry about working nights or weekends.

- Strong Technical & Functional Specification Document Writing, Requirement Analysis, and Project Planning skills
- Strong knowledge of Scrum, SAFe and Lean Agile frameworks.
- Knowledge of Miro, Confluence, and Jira toolset
- Ability to make reasoned decisions between competing choices based on limited information.
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects at a time with strong negotiation skills.
- A keen interest in project management
- Solid understanding of Project Management Principles and Practices
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, coupled with a thorough understanding of the technology and business drivers
- Ability to manage and interface in multi-discipline team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability, Innovative Thinker, quick learner
- Strong Analytical Skills; able to identify project problems and resolutions quickly.
- Excellent presentation, written and oral communications skills.
Your Experience and Education include:
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years managing software development teams as a Software Project Manager
- 3+ years Biometrics Industry experience
- Scrum Master (CSM) and SAFe® 5 Agilist (SA) Certifications preferred
- Experience implementing software development process and process improvement
- Experience with multiple software engineering methodologies
