As the Director of Operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of HID Extended Access Technologies (EAT) Biometric Business Unit Public business segment.

 

The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and drive sustainable growth. 

 

The Director of Operations will contribute to increased levels of customer satisfaction and improved operations efficiency through focused supply chain management, cross functional order Issue resolution, inventory control, cost management in PBG, and PPV management. 

 

Your leadership and managerial skills will be key in coordinating cross-functional teams, aligning goals, and ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations.

As our Director of Operations, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  1. Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop operational strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
    • Assess and identify areas for improvement in operational processes, policies, and systems.
    • Create and implement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality while reducing costs.
    • NPI coordinates for purchasing, forecast and capacity.
  2. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide strong leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Recruit, train, and develop talented individuals to build a high-performing operations team.
    • Establish clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to team members.
    • Work with Engineering team on VA/VE program.
  3. Process Optimization:
    • Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
    • Implement process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and eliminate redundancies.
    • Resource management in PBG to ensure smooth operation of shipment.
    • Participates in S&OP process and provides guidance to Supply Chain as necessary.
  4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance.
    • Monitor and analyze operational data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting operational performance, challenges, and recommended actions.
    • Manage monthly Inventory projection for public product line.
    • Implement new measures to control inventory purchase, ensure meeting Inventory projection.
    • Provide weekly update to OBE team on ESOP update.
    • Manage project or program resources and Budget and expense tracking.
    • Tracking of PPV and working with supplier to minimize PPV cost.
    • Update latest OSP cost in Oracle system.
  5. Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Implement robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets, data, and information.
    • Lead the purchasing team on any shortage and provide risk assessment to management on shortage and cost.
    • Lead the Ops team for any Quality related issue with Engineering. 
  6.  Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and external partners, to align operational objectives and initiatives.
    • Build strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
    • Communicate operational updates, challenges, and strategic plans to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Lead for ops on any acquisition activities.

Your Qualifications and Experience include: 

  • BS in Business or Industrial Engineering with a preference for planning & logistics management.
  • Planning accreditations such as APICs certification in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing operations, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Minimum 8 years supply chain / planning experience required.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP programs required.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with relevant software applications and tools for data analysis and process optimization.
