Production Member/Metal Fabricator

 

The purpose of this role is to:
    To follow health and safety standards
    To maintain a safe workplace including a clean workstation and production floor.
    As a production member, you are responsible for cutting, bending, drilling and building doors as specified.  Ensuring quality product plus the assembly of ancillary products. 

 

[ key responsibilities ]
General management
    Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
    To cut steel, aluminium as specified on the order forms.
    Manufacture and assemble products and parts as directed by production supervisor.
    Operate and maintain machinery and production / manufacturing equipment.
    Monitor the assembly of products, identify and remove any faulty products.
    Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or management team.
    To work within the Record Automatic Doors Quality guidelines and provide input for continuous improvement initiatives.
    Promote, increase, and maintain a positive and professional factory operation.
    Assist in the occasional deliveries or collections of parts or finished goods.
    Attend training and development relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
    Attend and present at internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
    Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
    Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are always maintained.
    Record and communicate all shortage issues to the relevant manager.

Relationship management
    Liaise with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and transport companies as and when required in a timely way.

    Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.

Qualification
    Trade Qualification in Metalwork Industry
    Current Forklift License – Not Necessary but favourable
    Current Australian driver’s license, (Including the ability to must be able to drive a manual car)

Experience
    2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
    Usage of machinery in a safe manner paying attention to all hazards
    Understanding of compliance to all WHS requirements
    Working in a collaborative team environment

Skills
    Attention to details and quality control.
    Be able and willing to perform in a cooperative environment.
    Ability to communicate effectively on all levels.
    A willingness to learn processes and procedures.
    Ability to read and interpret cut sheets and written instructions.
    Ability to problem solve efficiently and assertively with a positive attitude.
    Basic computer skills with and understanding of databases, as some data entry maybe required.
    Maturity and the ability to work unsupervised.
