Job Title: General Manager
Place of work: Oust‑Marest, France
This is a newly scoped General Manager role with full accountability for the performance of the Oust‑Marest site and its contribution to the ASSA ABLOY Door Business Segment. The role carries full P&L responsibility and provides end‑to‑end leadership across operations, commercial execution and people. The position is not a statutory Managing Director role but represents full business unit ownership within the ASSA ABLOY operating model.
Operating Context
Fichet operates within a centralised, strategy‑led ASSA ABLOY model, where overall commercial and operational direction is set at segment and regional level. Success in this role requires strong alignment with group strategy, effective operation in a matrix environment, and disciplined execution at site level.

The General Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the site:
- Delivers competitive, reliable and profitable outcomes
- Operates to ASSA ABLOY standards for safety, quality, ethics and sustainability
- Contributes actively to regional and segment priorities
Role Purpose
Reporting to the SVP & Head of Door Business EMEIA, the General Manager is accountable for the overall performance, competitiveness and development of the Oust‑Marest site.
The role translates segment strategy and regional priorities into clear local plans and delivers results through:
- Strong operational discipline
- Effective commercial execution
- Engaged leadership and talent development
Key Accountabilities
- Full P&L ownership for the Oust‑Marest business, including delivery of financial targets (sales, margin, EBIT/ROS, cash and cost control)
- Overall site leadership, with accountability for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people
- Execution of business plans aligned with ASSA ABLOY strategy, translating priorities into measurable actions and results
- Commercial leadership, ensuring effective sales execution, specification management and project discipline in line with central frameworks
- Operational excellence, driving continuous improvement across manufacturing, supply chain and end‑to‑end processes
- People leadership, building a high‑performing, accountable management team with strong engagement and capability development
- Cross‑functional and cross‑company collaboration, leveraging ASSA ABLOY networks to share best practice and deliver synergies
- Governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to ASSA ABLOY policies, business ethics and risk management standards
- Performance transparency, providing clear, timely and accurate reporting, forecasts and insights to regional and central stakeholders

Experience, Education and Profile
- Master’s degree in engineering, technical or business‑related discipline
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in an industrial or commercial environment, including senior general management or business unit leadership responsibility
- Proven experience with P&L ownership and operational leadership
- Strong exposure to project‑based and specification‑driven business models
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain and financial performance management
- Demonstrated leadership capability in developing teams and successors
- Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, supported by data
- Comfortable working in an international, matrix‑led organization
- High personal integrity and commitment to ASSA ABLOY business ethics
- Confident user of digital and analytical tools to support performance management
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
