Maintenance Technician

Our ASSA ABLOY Coastal Southeast regional manufacturing facility or Service Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician. This position will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Orlando, Florida.

What would you do as our Maintenance Technician?
You will make sure that all plant equipment is maintained and in good operating condition to minimize downtime, optimize production, and ensure that it’s a safe working environment for everyone.
You would also:
- Perform entry to mid-level break-fix & preventative maintenance. This includes but not limited to: adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments to sustain and improve operations; repairing or replacing defective parts; reconditioning or repairing machine tools.
- Identify needed parts, supplies, and repair items.
- Provide support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
- Be aware of Maintenance Industry Standards.
- Understand GMP's, continuous improvement and Quality Control.
- Assure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Participates in CI activities - processes, results and cost savings.
- May be required to setup and operate simple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform basic welding tasks.
- Update records and reviews CMMS history.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Associate degree with a technical focus or 18 months of related experience in general industry.
- 2-3 Years previous mechanical and electrical background.
- Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical systems. Can perform repairs.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools.
- MUST be flexible to work all shifts and available for weekend overtime as necessary.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate within a team environment.
