General Site Manager - Ontario, California

Our Southwest regional manufacturing facility or Service Center, located in Ontario, California, is looking for a General Site Manager or Service Center Manager who will serve as the local business leader, responsible for accelerating growth, expanding customer relationships, driving profitability, and leading operational excellence throughout the region. This role will be based on-site and will report directly to our Regional Operations Director or Head of Hollow Metal.

What would you do as our General Site Manager or Service Center Manager?

You will have full ownership of the daily operations and be an integral part of all facets including Business Development and inside sales, managing the P & L, light manufacturing, capacity planning and production scheduling. Next to this, you will drive revenue growth, expand market presence, strengthen customer partnerships, and identify new business opportunities while leading a high-performing manufacturing and distribution operation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining business development, customer engagement, team leadership, and operational execution to deliver profitable growth.

You would also:

  • Work with the local sales team to develop and execute local growth strategies designed to increase revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Build, maintain, and expand relationships with distributors, contractors, fabricators, general contractors, architects, and other key customers throughout the territory.
  • Identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and underserved customer segments to accelerate growth.
  • Work closely together with the Customer Services employees onsite and in the region, ensuring responsiveness, service excellence, and long-term customer loyalty.
  • Drive a culture focused on growth, accountability, and customer-centric decision making.
  • Plan and effectively execute an operational strategy to meet or exceed production and budgetary expectations
  • Focus on freight and distribution, capacity planning, manpower planning, inventory management, replenishment, and production scheduling.
  • Establish operational standards and KPIs related to revenue growth, customer retention, profitability, cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, inventory management, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage service center financial performance, including revenue growth, margin improvement, expense control, budget adherence, and overall profitability.
  • Develop enhanced organizational capabilities and create a collaborative high-performance work environment through employee training, development, and succession planning
  • Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment while holding self and others accountable to OSHA and ASSA ABLOY standards.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

The Skills and Experience You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of leadership experience with demonstrated success leading teams and delivering business results.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, customer growth, branch management, account management, sales leadership, operational leadership, or other roles involving responsibility for business growth and customer relationship development.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities, develop customer relationships, and translate growth opportunities into profitable business results.
  • Experience managing or influencing both operational and commercial objectives, including customer relationships, revenue growth, business development, or profitability initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of financial performance, budgeting, and P&L management.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean principles such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience in metal forming or a related field and/or a general understanding of the commercial construction industry preferred.
  • Leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop relationships and influence all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up, and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel to local customers with occasional overnight stays required.

Compensation: The expected base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus.
