Important location requirement Please note that this role requires regular attendance at our office in Olney, Buckinghamshire, one day per week. As such, we are focusing on candidates who can comfortably and consistently make this commute on a weekly basis.

As the PMO LEAD  for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to …

 

Reporting to the UK HEAD OR ENGINEERING OPERATIONS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT - The PMO Lead is responsible for leading the Project Management Office, ensuring effective planning, coordination and governance across engineering and projects. The role will drive operational excellence by improving engineering lead times, increasing engineer utilisation, enhancing delivery performance and embedding consistent project management standards.

The PMO Lead will manage 2 PMO coordinators, ensuring resources, schedules and reporting are aligned to business priorities while delivering measureable improvements against operational KPI's.

 

 

  

What you will do…

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the PMO function, creating efficient and scalable project governance processes.
  • Manage, coach and develop 2 PMO coordinators.
  • Standardise project management methodologies, templates and reporting.
  • Ensure consistent project planning and scheduling across all engineering activities.
  • Facilitate project reviews, governance meetings and operational planning.

 

Resource and Capacity Management

  • Own engineering resource and planning and allocation.
  • Balance workloads to maximise engineer utilisation while maintaining delivery quality.
  • Forecast future resource requirements and identify capacity constraints.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to optimise deployment of engineering teams (inc. Third Party)

 

Performance and KPI Management

Own and report on operational KPI's including:

  • Reduction in engineering lead time
  • Increase in Engineer utilisation (% productive hrs.)
  • On-time project delivery
  • Resource allocation efficiency
  • Project backlog management
  • PMO service level performance
  • Customer delivery performance

 

Analyse trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance.

 

Project Governance

  • Monitor project health and escalate risks where required
  • Ensure projects follow agreed governance and approval processes

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary PMO contact for Engineering, Operations, Commercial and Leadership Teams.
  • Provide accurate reporting to senior management.
  • Facilitate planning meetings and operational reviews.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes.
  • Implement continual, lean improvement initiatives.
  • Drive automation of reporting and planning where possible.
  • Support business transformation initiatives.
