Your Opportunity:

  • Attend local technical college on a recognised apprenticeship training programme
  • Work towards becoming a Field Based Service Engineer and an important part of the TRAKA UK engineering team
  • This role will require you to support the team of external Service and Installation Engineers from an internal perspective.
  • Act as the “second pair of hands” on selected installation/deployments of our TRAKA Solutions
  • It will be your mission to:
    • Ensure that engineering vehicle stock is sent to them on a weekly basis.
    • Check the consumable stock held and ensure that any requirements from the field-based team is sent and stock levels maintained.
    • Perform internal engineering tasks including control panel checks, internal systems audits and repairs etc.
    • Be responsible on back-office functions to support the engineering team, including but not limited to, Stock, Pre-installation configurations, Maintaining and Driving Clearances, Vans & Tooling
    • Be the point of contact for field-based engineering teams.
    • Be responsible for Returns Process to support maintenance contracted customers.
    • Provide other administration task when required to support the wider Aftersales Team.
    • Be available to assist on site engineering teams on larger installations where applicable
    • Operate to Safe Working practices and Instructions complying with H&S, including both Traka and customer site policies.
    • Give support to customers as required.
    • Ensure all returns are processed and documented, repairing product where possible.
    • Perform other tasks from time to time as requested by Manager.
    • Work with the in-house scheduling team in terms of geographical work planning.

 

Who You Are:

You will be self-motivated, trustworthy and honest, and have the ability to work on your own initiative, with good numeracy and IT skills.

You will have great communication skills with proven customer service experience. You will also be able to demonstrate good problem solving and administrating skills adopting a ‘hands on’ approach and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Work towards having the following experience:

  • Knowledge and practical experience of installing and maintaining electronic equipment.
  • Understanding of circuit boards, electronics hardware and/or software applications.
  • Working on customer sites including safe working practices.
  • Hands on electronic and electromechanical experience.
  • Maintaining documented records using electronic medium.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows/cloud-based software and certainty with IT packages.
  • Understanding of network and networking connectivity and cabling.
  • Developing long-term working relationships with customers.

Desired competencies:

  • Should hold a full current UK driving licence.
  • Good basic education in communication (both written and oral), numeracy and IT skills.
  • Confident with IT equipment (laptops/tablets) and familiarisation of software installations (Basic knowledge).
  • Be prepared to travel and stay away when being asked to work outside of Traka on customer sites
