About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a motivated Team Leader to join our Melbourne based team.
Reporting to the Mortice Lock Team Leader this role will be working as part of a fast-paced production line team and be responsible for utilising a range of equipment for the for assembling of components into high quality semi-finished and finished goods.
You will be:
• Daily scheduling & planning of production priorities.
• Achieving production plans within time standard costs and quality specifications.
• Monitor product quality and rejects.
• Manage resources of team, consumables, and management.
• Creating a team-based environment and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Expense control – factory supplies, PPE, repairs and maintenance
• Implement and maintain lean manufacturing initiatives
• Coordinating of Kanban components, monitoring shortages and expediting.
• Recognise and facilitate Kaizan opportunities
• Perform and manage all relevant stores duties
What we are looking for
As an integral part of the team within a wider business, you will be a clear communicator and an effective team player that can manage your time and focus for long periods of time. While there are technical elements to this role that you will need proven experience in, it’s not all that we’re looking for. We want people who:
• Have assembly experience in manufacturing.
• Have experience in leading a small team
• Possess a strong focus in Work Health and Safety.
• Have excellent attention to detail.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
• Can perform well under pressure in a fast-paced production line environment.
• Are eager to learn and can follow tasks and directions.
• Have Knowledge or experience in 6S and Continuous Improvement processes.
