About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a motivated Safety Health Environment Quality (SHEQ) Officer to join our Oakleigh based team. 

Reporting to the Safety Health Environment Quality Manager this role will be responsible for the continuous improvement and support of our safety, health, environment and quality systems and processes with an emphasis on enhancing safety culture and maintaining compliance, quality with a continuous improvement focus.  

 

You will be:
•    Supporting managers, supervisors and employees on improving safety, health, environment, and quality culture 
•    Proactively driving solutions for identified non-conformances, risks and opportunities in the organisation
•    Supporting the development, application, monitoring and reporting of the SHEQ, risk management and quality programs
•    Providing technical expertise and SHEQ guidance to the organisation
•    Participate in internal and external auditing practices against standards and statutory obligations
•    Identifying needs and developing tools and programs to enhance SHEQ capability
•    Engaging stakeholders for completion of corrective and preventative actions to ensure non-conformances are closed 
•    Ensuring required quality standards are maintained for current and future products


What we are looking for
As an integral part of the team within a wider business, you will be a clear communicator and an effective team player that can manage and prioritise multiple projects.

While there are technical elements to this role that you will need proven experience in, it’s not all that we’re looking for.

•    Have experience with ISO9001, ISO14001 or similar standards
•    Understand hazard/risk management principles and relevant legislation
•    Have qualifications in WHS/OHS (Cert III or superior)
•    Have experience within a similar role
