About the Role

The Payroll Specialist, as part of the on-site payroll team, is responsible for the delivery of exceptional customer centric Payroll services to multiple business entities, ensuring the compliant, accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages in a confidential manner, and in accordance with relevant Company Policies and Procedures, Awards and Enterprise Agreements, Service Level Agreements and State and Federal legislation.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for utilising all payroll related IT systems including SAP SSF (HR), ADP (PR), ESS (PR), Time & Attendance, and any manual systems and processes, to ensure the accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead accurate and efficient payroll processing using ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, and T&A systems like Tanda, across multiple entities and employment types.
  • Be the go-to for onboarding, changes, and separations ensuring every transition is seamless and compliant.
  • Administer a wide range of leave types, from parental and personal to workers comp and EA entitlements, ensuring employees are supported and records are spot-on.
  • Champion data integrity and compliance across rosters and timesheets, collaborating with site managers to keep everything on track.
  • Manage bank file uploads via Citibank and ensure every dollar aligns with approvals and payroll outcomes.
  • Deliver payroll tax, GL, STP, and superannuation reporting with confidence, supporting Finance with reconciliations and insights.
  • Resolve payroll issues with HR, Finance, and ADP, bringing clarity, speed, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Own audits, SOPs, documentation, and legislative adherence, keeping our payroll practices sharp and future ready.
  • Be part of system upgrades, process improvements, and training initiatives, helping shape the future of payroll at ASSA ABLOY.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in payroll across salaried and EA/Award environments
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and enterprise agreements
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Payforce, SAP SSF, and T&A platforms (Tanda preferred)
  • Experience in manufacturing or operational environments is highly regarded
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and problem-solving ability
  • A collaborative mindset and strong stakeholder engagement skills
