Inside Sales Representative
Build relationships. Grow accounts. Help shape a new way of working.
The Opportunity
ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in access solutions, trusted by locksmiths and trade professionals across Australia. Our Lockwood, Yale and Whitco brands are synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation in door hardware and security solutions.
We’re creating a new Inside Sales Representative role to support and grow our locksmith customer base. This is an opportunity to help define how we engage, enable and grow these customers through proactive, value-led conversations.
If you enjoy building credibility with trade customers, taking ownership of a portfolio, and working with a degree of ambiguity, this role offers both impact and progression.
The Role | Growth Focused
As our Inside Sales Representative, you’ll proactively manage and develop a portfolio of locksmith accounts, working closely with Customer Service and Sales.
This is not a reactive order-taking role. You’ll focus on account development: helping customers get set up to trade more effectively with ASSA ABLOY, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring they are confident using our products, pricing and ordering tools.
Because this is a new role, you’ll also contribute to shaping call plans, engagement cadences and best practices.
Your key focus areas:
-
Manage and develop a portfolio of locksmith accounts, with a focus on long‑term growth and retention
-
Build credibility and trust with locksmiths by understanding their work, customers and operating challenges
-
Support account onboarding and ongoing enablement, including pricing set‑up, account hygiene and access to our eShop/customer portal
-
Communicate promotions, product updates and trading opportunities clearly and professionally
-
Identify opportunities through structured, value‑led conversations and progress them appropriately
-
Qualify opportunities and coordinate effective handovers to Sales where site visits or complex support is required
-
Capture customer and market insights and share them with sales, marketing and product teams
-
Maintain accurate CRM records and manage your portfolio with strong ownership and follow‑through
What You Bring
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a combination of commercial acumen, trade credibility and a proactive approach to developing customer relationships.
-
Experience in inside sales, account management or customer development within a B2B environment, where success is measured through account growth, engagement and retention
- Experience working within locksmithing, door hardware, building products or trade distribution (preferred)
-
Knowledge of locksmithing, hardware or door hardware, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn technical products and industry language
-
Confidence working with trade customers, building rapport and credibility through practical, solutions‑focused conversations
-
A consultative mindset, you seek to understand how customers work and recommend solutions that genuinely support their business
-
Strong ownership and self‑management, with the ability to plan your time, manage a portfolio of accounts and follow through on commitments
-
Comfort using CRM systems to track activity, opportunities and customer information accurately
-
The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, adapting your approach to different customer needs and experience levels
