The ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Pacific and North East Asia division leads the development within door openings and products for access solutions in homes, businesses and institutions. Our offering includes doors, door and window hardware, locks, access control and service. The division has commercial and operational activities across Australia, Japan, Korea, and New Zealand.
 

About The Role

We currently have an opportunity for a Buyer to join our Procurement team based at our Oakleigh site. Reporting to the Buyer Team Leader, this role is responsible for all transactional activities and operational efficiencies for a given direct spend portfolio as well as strategic sourcing for lower-spend suppliers. 

 

Key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:


•    Supply Management: ensure supply of product is optimised to meet inventory and service level targets
•    Supplier Management: develop, sustain and promote a collaborative and balanced relationship with suppliers
•    Customer Management: provide prompt, professional and reliable services
•    Cost Control: identify, capitalise and/or contribute to cost reduction opportunities whilst preserving value of product/service
•    Work together with other ASSA ABLOY Group companies to achieve synergies through common agreement
 

About You 

You will have previous experience working in international purchasing and be a highly motivated individual with the capability to juggle multiple projects whilst working cross functionally.

 

You will have: 

 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and negotiation/influencing skills and be result driven through logical and methodical means
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • The willingness to learn and adopt new skills as well as be a critical thinker and have a strong eye for detail 
  • Experience with Microsoft tool, Dynamic AX is highly desirable
