We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager, who will play a pivotal role in driving the development and implementation of critical IT projects.

 

The primary role of the Technical Project Manager is to provide project planning and management for established initiatives within the Americas Shared Services IT Infrastructure Departments.  The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed to specification, on time, and within the established budget.  Duties include planning projects in detail, setting schedules for all stakeholders, executing each step of the project, and providing regular status updates to the Management Team. This position will be located at our ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas headquarters in New Haven, CT.
 

What you will be doing as a Technical Project Manager
 

  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for technical team members required for specific projects or initiatives 
  • Managing projects to make sure the proposed plan adheres to timeline, budget and scope 
  • Holding regular technical team meetings to collect and document project task updates; determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects 
  • Creation of management, communication plans and processes 
  • Analyze and develop procedures for management and technical duties 
  • Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports 

 

What we are looking for
 

Education:  A bachelor's in Information Technology, Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience.   
 
Experience: 3 to 5 Years of IT Project Management 

 

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Professional Project Management Certificate from accredited intuition preferred 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies and methods 
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making 
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to the business, as well as business concepts to technologists 
  • Principles and practices of producing effective project documentation including business functions, business information systems, and practices 
  • Strong Time management and organizational skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills - ability to interact with all levels in a courteous, helpful and professional manner 
  • Unquestionable ethics with proven ability to deal with a high level of confidentiality 
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment 
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and exhibit a strong sense of urgency
