ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions, is seeking a Tax Manager, who will be a key contributor to the overall tax strategy and will work on diverse tax functions. This position will sit in New Haven, CT, and will have tremendous reach supporting our operations throughout the Americas. The income tax reporting for the consolidated group exceeds $8B in revenue, with an excess of $500M of cross border transactions annually.
 

What you will be doing
 

You will be responsible for reviewing Federal and State Income tax returns prepared by our team of dedicated tax return preparers. You will make recommendations on income tax return processes and return preparation, with a focus on accuracy and tax planning opportunities. As you become more familiar with this process, you will gain increasing responsibility in the review process. You will assist in the preparation of Federal and State tax returns for more complex corporate tax returns.
 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work with local finance contacts throughout the U.S. to obtain financial records to support tax return calculations.
  • Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize OneSource tax software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters.
  • Review and coordinate the preparation and filing of quarterly income tax estimates and extensions.
  • Review and prepare required documentation related to mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations
  • Mentor and supervise junior tax professionals, providing guidance and fostering their professional development
  • Ensure timely filing and review of the FBAR, 1042, 1099, and 1120F tax filings.
     

What we are looking for
 

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager with 6-10 years of corporate tax experience. A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, and a master’s degree in accounting is a plus. CPA or MST certification is preferred. Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is highly desired.

 

We seek a capable and technologically adept individual, preferably with OneSource Income Tax experience. Proficiency in technology, including Excel, is essential. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage, lead, and work independently. Previous supervisory experience is required, as you will oversee and mentor the work produced by the staff.
