Senior Technical Project Manager - System Integration

As a Senior Technical Project Manager – Systems Integration you will work with product management, system architects, firmware and software development teams, and senior leadership to drive complex Electronic Access Control product development and systems integration programs from concept and business approval through commercialization and full-scale production. You will effectively lead product development programs using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and traditional waterfall/phase-gate methodologies. You will be an active problem solver who drives cross-functional alignment and coordinates the efforts of the project team.
This position reports to the Access and Egress Hardware (AEH) Program Management Office and is an on-site role located in either New Haven, CT or Berlin, CT.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead complex product development and system integration projects involving embedded firmware, software, cloud services, and Electronic Access Control solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to define requirements, priorities, interfaces, and delivery plans.
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, and escalations.
- Drive execution through project reviews, stakeholder communication, and governance using SAFe and waterfall/gateway methodologies.
- Partner with project managers, scrum masters, and the AEH PMO to continuously improve project management practices, tools, and processes.
What You Will Be Doing
You will lead complex system integration and product development projects involving embedded firmware, software applications, cloud-connected services, and Electronic Access Control solutions. You will coordinate cross-functional, multi-location teams and partner with system architects, product owners, and stakeholders to define requirements, interfaces, priorities, and delivery plans.
You will establish and maintain project plans, schedules, and dependencies while ensuring governance through SAFe and waterfall/gateway methodologies. You will drive execution through regular project reviews, facilitate timely communication, and proactively manage project risks, issues, and escalations to achieve key milestones and launch objectives.
You will collaborate with project managers, scrum masters, and the AEH Program Management Office to promote and continuously improve project management practices, tools, and processes.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading technically complex product development and systems integration programs from concept through commercialization. Additional qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience leading complex product development or systems integration projects.
- Proven experience delivering connected products involving embedded firmware, software, cloud services, and integrated hardware systems, including leadership of cross-functional engineering teams and management of complex technical dependencies from concept through commercialization.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
- Experience managing projects using Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and traditional waterfall or phase-gate development methodologies.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and related project management tools.
- Experience within Electronic Access Control (EAC), physical security, or related connected-device industries is strongly preferred.
- PMP, SAFe, or equivalent project management certifications are preferred.
