Senior Financial Analyst

     

 

ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in access solutions, with operations in more than 70 countries. The Americas Division is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Finance team in New Haven, CT. 

This role supports financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close activities, business analysis, OneStream reporting, Excel-based reports using OneStream queries, and preparation of management PowerPoint presentations. 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with finance, accounting, and business partners to provide accurate reporting and useful insights. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis. 

  • Prepare monthly financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations using OneStream data and Excel reporting tools. 

  • Build, maintain, and update Excel reports using OneStream queries to support recurring reporting and ad hoc analysis. 

  • Assist with management PowerPoint presentations. 

  • Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and trend analysis of actual results versus plan. 

  • Analyze financial results and cost variances to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. 

  • Prepare intercompany allocations, billings, and related support documentation. 

  • Support internal control compliance, audit requests, and documentation of accounting processes. 

  • Partner with finance, accounting, and business teams to gather data and explain financial results. 

  • Support financial integration activities for acquisitions, including reporting, restatements, and purchase accounting support as needed. 

  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis projects. 

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or month-end close. 

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles; GAAP experience required and IFRS exposure preferred. 

  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and analysis of large data sets. 

  • Hands-on experience with OneStream reporting, including creating, running, and maintaining Excel reports using OneStream queries. 

  • Experience with ERP and reporting systems such as JDE, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Hyperion, Power BI, or Business Objects is helpful. 

  • Ability to prepare clear financial reports and assist with management PowerPoint presentations for leadership review. 

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities. 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with cross-functional partners. 

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Limited travel may be required, up to 5%. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Advanced OneStream reporting experience, including report maintenance, data validation, and use of OneStream queries in Excel. 

  • Experience in a multi-divisional, manufacturing, or global organization. 

  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, purchase accounting, or financial restatements. 

  • Interest in improving financial processes, reporting tools, and automation.
