Security Operations Specialist


Interact closely with associates across IT.  Your hands-on security technical expertise will help you execute your responsibilities for a broad range of tasks, and maturation of our Security Operation team including associated processes and procedures. A successful candidate will bring a positive attitude and the ability to work within our organization’s digital transformation that is underway.


Security Operations Specialist duties and responsibilities of the job:


  • Lead the day-to-day Security Operations of the New Haven Datacenter and branch offices.
  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems, networks, and information infrastructure.
  • Participate in any new security project considerations at the onset and make recommendations as to which tools/platforms will fit best for solution. Document and integrate into overall design architecture.
  • Maintain up-to-date, detailed knowledge of the IT Security Industry including awareness of new or improved security solutions and policies, processes, and procedures.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in computer science, computer systems, or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of proven experience supporting and architecting large scale enterprise IT network solutions for internal and outward facing applications.
  • Ability to participate in the development and deployment of Divisional-wide best practices for IT Security.
  • Experience researching security enhancements and making recommendations to management.
  • Experience investigating security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
  • Understanding of patch management with ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
  • Exposure and understanding of security practices within Azure and O365.
  • Experience with Solarwinds N-able.
  • Strong communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
