As a Retirement Plan Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and compliance of our company’s retirement benefit programs. You’ll work closely with the Manager, Defined Benefits and outside plan administration teams to administer pension and 401(k) plans. 
 

This is an onsite position based at our Americas headquarters in New Haven, CT.
 

What you will be doing 


As Retirement Plan Administration, you will manage all facets of our retirement plans, acting as the point of contact for employees when questions arise. You will be an employee advocate and help educate internal customers on their retirement plan offerings.
 

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
 

  • Act as primary contact for company Defined Contribution 401(k) plan and Defined Benefit pension plan.  
  • Review employee contributions, employer matches, and withdrawals according to plan rules.  Perform 401(k) contribution reconciliations.  
  • Ensure ERISA Compliance by staying informed about ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) regulations and ensure plan compliance. 
  • Perform annual testing including non-discrimination testing (ADP/ACP, top-heavy, etc.) and address any issues. 
  • Gather data and review for accuracy prepared annual Form 5500 filings. 
  • Maintain accurate Summary Plan Descriptions for Pension and 401(k) plans. 
  • Provide support for incoming employee and retiree phone/email inquiries relating to their pension benefit and 401(k) accounts.   
  • Participate in workshops, webinars, or one-on-one sessions to address participant inquiries as needed. 
  • Collaborate with internal partners, third-party administrators, recordkeepers, and investment providers. 
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring all plan-related data (participant information, contributions, distributions) is accurately recorded and updated. 
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to retirement plans. 
  • Participate in plan design discussions and implement changes as needed. 
  • Assist with retirement plan transitions during company mergers or acquisitions. 

What we are looking for 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in retirement plan administration, working on a variety of defined benefit/contribution programs.   
  • Strong knowledge of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRS guidelines). 
  • Proficiency in using retirement plan administration software and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Ability to resolve issues and make corrections using excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
