This is an onsite position based in New Haven, CT. You must have the ability to travel, including internally, up to 25%.

What you will be doing

Our work is rooted in curiosity, precision, and integrity. As an M&A Analyst, you will generate insights that impact which markets we enter, which companies we pursue, and how we position the business for long‑term success. You’ll uncover emerging trends, map whitespace opportunities, analyze industries and competitors, and build financial models that support strategic decision‑making. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending research, structured problem‑solving, financial analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.

You will help frame key strategic questions, synthesize findings, and contribute to discussions with business leaders as we evaluate opportunities and shape our acquisition theses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct industry and competitive analyses to identify acquisition targets and market entry opportunities.
  • Build and maintain market maps and whitespace maps highlighting key players, disruptors, and potential synergies.
  • Assess macroeconomic, regulatory, and technological trends affecting deal attractiveness.
  • Prepare concise, visually compelling research reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Integrate market insights into valuation, scenario planning, and pipeline development.
  • Monitor M&A activity, funding rounds, and strategic moves in target sectors.
  • Perform company‑level research on business models, products, end markets, and competitive positioning.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support screening and valuation.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate strategic fit and prioritize target areas.
  • Support strategy sessions focused on market landscapes, whitespace, and acquisition priorities.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 2–4 years in market research, investment banking, consulting, strategy, corporate development, or similar analytical roles (M&A experience a plus).
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel and market intelligence tools.
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear frameworks and actionable insights.
  • Curious, investigative mindset with strong financial modeling experience.
  • Effective communicator able to engage credibly with senior leaders.
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment where priorities can shift quickly.
