Join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer where you’ll play a key role in improving production performance, launching new products, and influencing how our manufacturing operation evolves.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, collaborating across teams, and leading meaningful improvements that directly impact our business.

 

This role will sit on-site in New Haven, CT reporting to the Profit Center General Manager.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Develop and continuously improve manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards.
  • Create comprehensive quality plans to ensure product reliability and compliance with specifications.
  • Lead root-cause analyses and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, including workflow optimization, lead‑time reduction, and implementation of visual factory principles.
  • Plan, commission, and maintain production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Champion quality improvement efforts through training, communication, and deployment of best practices.
  • Manage the evaluation, selection, purchase, and installation of new equipment and technologies.
  • Optimize utilization of automated systems, including multi‑axis CNC equipment and robotic automation.
  • Lead cross-functional cost‑reduction, productivity, and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and support manufacturing objectives.
  • Apply lean methodologies (Kanban, Poka‑Yoke, VSM, JIT) to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Promote a visual factory environment and reduce product lead times.
  • Support automation, cellular layout design, and process optimization.
  • Plan, commission, and support machine and assembly production lines.

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or engineering related field of study.
  • Must have 2-5+ years of hands-on experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer (or similar role).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (Kanban, Poka‑Yoke, JIT, VSM).
  • Experience with metal machining processes and tool design.
  • Practical understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to generate innovative solutions.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 

 

Preferred Skills

 

  • CNC programming experience preferred
