Integration Lead, Azure API Management

 

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas Division implements and supports Oracle J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP applications. The organization leverages Azure API Management to integrate the JD Edwards ERP platform with other enterprise systems across all business units throughout the Americas.

 

 

The Integration Lead with Azure API Management specialization will report to the Commercial Segment organization. The integration lead will work on managing and supporting integration of APIs with ERP ecosystem software. The Integration Lead will also coordinate the development and documentation of consolidated divisional standard operating procedures for Integrations in ERP and its ancillary systems and then drive the implementation of these standards while working as a part of the various ERP integrations and production support teams.

 

This position will sit full-time in New Haven, CT reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications.

 

What you will be doing 

 

  • Translate business and integration requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performance API solutions using Azure API Management.
  • Analyze, design, and recommend API-led integration patterns and best practices aligned with Azure Integration Services.
  • Design, implement, and maintain APIM policies, including:
    • Security and authentication (OAuth2, JWT, subscription keys)
    • Traffic management (throttling, rate limiting, quotas)
    • Caching, transformation, and request/response mediation
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance, reliability, and availability to ensure seamless integrations and user experience.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, and dashboards within APIM and Azure Monitor / Application Insights to debug issues and visualize API usage.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external third-party vendors to enable and govern API integrations.
  • Maintain clear and accurate API documentation, including OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Stay up to date with Azure APIM features, security updates, and industry best practices, continuously improving solution design and delivery.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance integration services using cloud and middleware technologies.

 

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Integration Services, such as:
    • Logic Apps
    • Azure Functions
    • Service Bus
  • Solid understanding of API-led architecture and RESTful API design principles.
  • Experience implementing APIM policies for security, traffic management, and transformations.
  • Knowledge of Azure networking concepts, including:
    • Public and private endpoints
    • VNET integration
    • Access to secure resources
  • Familiarity with Azure services such as Blob Storage, Logic Apps, and related cloud components.
  • Experience with API logging, monitoring, and analytics to support troubleshooting and usage insights.
  • Basic understanding of ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, to support end-to-end business process integration.
