We are seeking a skilled and motivated QA Engineer III (Level 3) to join our Access Egress Hardware Team. As a QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our CI/CD practices and ensuring the quality and reliability of our firmware and embedded systems. You will work closely with Firmware Engineers, DevOps Specialists, and Solution Architects who design and integrate our products. This collaborative environment will provide you with the opportunity to shape the future of our product lines, driving innovation and excellence in everything we do. This position will sit onsite full-time New Haven, CT.
What you will be doing
- Elevate Quality and Resilience: Lead initiatives to enhance the quality and resilience of our platform, ensuring our users experience top-tier performance and reliability.
- Drive Innovation: Test and validate new firmware features, contributing to the technical direction and future growth of our product offerings.
- Develop Testing Frameworks and Automation: Play a key role in developing and maintaining our testing framework, working with CI/CD pipelines, and driving the implementation of automation practices.
- Lead Automated Testing: Utilize Python to develop state-of-the-art automated tests, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Research and implement advanced testing strategies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement to elevate our platform’s quality.
- Comprehensive Testing: Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for both firmware and APIs in embedded systems, ensuring functionality, performance, and security.
- Maintain Automated Test Suites: Develop and maintain automated test suites to validate firmware and API performance.
What we are looking for
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, test automation, or a related field, with a focus on embedded systems and firmware.
- Technical Expertise: Strong experience with Python and Python-based test frameworks.
- Embedded Systems Proficiency: Proven experience in test automation within embedded environments.
- Testing Knowledge: Solid understanding of various levels of testing and their application in embedded systems.
- API Testing Skills: Proficiency with API testing tools and frameworks, particularly those adaptable to embedded systems.
- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in a QA environment.
- Version Control: Proficient in using Git or other version control systems.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Collaborative Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
