We are seeking a motivated and skilled QA Engineer II to join our Access Egress Hardware Team. As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our CI/CD practices and ensuring the quality and reliability of our firmware and embedded systems. You will collaborate closely with Firmware Engineers, DevOps Specialists, and Solution Architects, working on innovative solutions that enhance our product development lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the testing processes of cutting-edge technology in secure access.

 

This position will sit onsite full-time New Haven, CT.

 

What you will be doing 

  • Enhance Quality and Resilience: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the quality and resilience of our platform, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability for our users.
  • Support Innovation: Assist in testing and validating new firmware features, providing valuable feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Develop Testing Automation: Write and maintain automated test scripts, contributing to the development and maintenance of our testing framework and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement: Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, proposing enhancements and implementing advanced testing strategies under guidance.
  • Assist in Comprehensive Testing: Help design and execute test strategies for firmware and APIs in embedded systems, focusing on specific test cases and scenarios.
  • Maintain and Expand Test Suites: Contribute to maintaining and expanding automated test suites, refining existing tests, and adding new ones as needed.

 

What we are looking for

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, test automation, or a related field, with a focus on embedded systems and firmware.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python and Python-based test frameworks, with growing experience in test automation.
  • Embedded Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding and experience with test automation in embedded environments, with ongoing development in this area.
  • API Testing Skills: Experience with API testing tools and frameworks, adaptable to embedded systems, with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in a QA environment.
  • Version Control: Proficient in using Git or other version control systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, analyze, and report bugs independently.
  • Collaborative Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
