We’re excited to be hiring a summer Firmware Engineering Intern to work in the Electro-Mechanical Access Controls team within our Access Egress Hardware Group (AEHG). This position will work directly with senior engineers on real products that impact the company.

 

This position will sit onsite full-time in New Haven, CT at ASSA ABLOY Americas corporate headquarters and will report to the Lead Firmware Engineer.

 

What you will be doing 

  • Assist in the development and testing of engineering prototypes.
  • Conduct research on potential new projects.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field of engineering.
  • Assist senior engineers with day-to-day tasks.
  • Update engineering databases.
  • Attend scrum team stand ups and report on your tasks.

What we are looking for

  • Working towards a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or related field of study.
  • Must hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with programming in C.
  • Embedded development.
