The America’s Commercial division is in the process of building a Project Management Office to standardize and coordinate the implementation of IT Projects. Simultaneously, our division is in the process of consolidating ERP systems throughout all business units onto the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP platform.
 

ASSA ABLOY Americas is seeking a Director, Project Management Office. The Director will lead and manage the Commercial Division information technologies projects. The team consists of project managers, solution architects, and functional leads (both internal staff and external consultants) that drive the attainment of the division’s roadmap of conversion and implementation projects.


Responsibilities: 

 

  • Oversee systems conversion and implementation projects (including JD Edwards), in the role of project leader (or project manager depending on the scale and needs of the project).
  • Work closely with stakeholders at all levels including business leadership, executive teams, project teams, and business users.
  • Interface with the JD Edwards shared services technology team, and with external managed services providers.
  • Interface with other divisional teams including infrastructure, business intelligence, e-commerce and EDI, supply management.
  • Assist with departmental and capital budgeting, resource planning, and resource acquisition.
  • Participate in or lead as needed various internal business and technology councils and other groups.
  • Lead continuous improvement of the staff composition, skills, and training of the implementation team.
  • ASSA ABLOY is a global company; travel is required, mostly in North America, also to some extent in Central and South America.

 

Skills and Qualifications Required:

 

  • 4 year College degree or relevant education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading and managing information Technology Project (JD Edwards implementations a plus), including multiple concurrent large-scale projects.
  • Highly motivated and shows initiative; exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, high velocity, environment; ability to stay focused on responsibilities, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Experience with outsourced data centers; on-shore, near-shore, and off-shore resource management; experience managing a geographically dispersed, virtual team.
  • Ability to drive effective meetings; workshops, design and problem solving sessions.
  • Able to scale, apply, and adapt project management methodologies and frameworks; PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrate and apply strong problem solving, analytical, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business friendly and user friendly language; demonstrated aptitude for working with, supporting, and communicating with users and customers.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, shared-services environment, across multiple divisions with a variety of operating environments, application software, tools and technologies.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Must be available to work continuously in the US without sponsorship.

 

 

 

Additional skills desired:

 

  • Windows platform; Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with functional configuration and setup of JD Edwards modules preferred.
  • Exposure/experience with agile implementation life cycle frameworks and software products.
  • Has or will quickly acquire construction industry and product knowledge.
  • Some background and understanding of operational processes in a manufacturing environment; functional competency in manufacturing, distribution and financials.
