The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for defining, implementing and sustaining a data governance framework to ensure ongoing development of high-quality analytics capabilities and adherence to the enterprise data strategy. Additionally, the Data Governance Analyst will support the administration and maintenance of our data governance platform (Collibra).

 

In this highly visible role, the Data Governance Analyst will work across business areas and IT & BI teams to assess, document, and establish or implement standards for all data elements in the Data Governance Framework.  The Framework specifies all processes, procedures, and standards necessary for efficient data management and ultimately ensure data quality. The Data Governance Analyst will take ownership for supporting our Collibra environment, ensuring sufficient and necessary documentation is captured and maintained.  This role will work directly with the Data Governance Lead and off-shore resources.

 

This is an onsite position based at our Americas Headquarters in New Haven, CT.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Assist Data Governance Lead in all aspects of implementing data governance protocols, policies, processes, and standards; including areas such as workflow for data ingestion, data quality, master data, and data life cycle management
  • Support and administer Collibra data governance platform
  • Provide technical guidance on connection, ingestion, and parsing of data sources into Collibra
  • Document and enforce policies and procedures that track and ensure high data quality and alignment with business needs
  • Updating and entering rules, codes, and associated data into our MDM and Data Governance systems
  • Build & manage data lineage models for business processes and platform architecture to ensure correct sourcing, use, and access to critical data.
  • Communicate and update business regularly on the quality of data and outstanding gaps
  • Work collaboratively with appropriate teams to ensure that there are procedures and templates for documentation of Data Dictionaries and Data Models
  • Champion, educate, and drive adoption of data governance practices by showing its impact on business decision-making
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to quickly shift efforts to prioritize business needs

What we are looking for

 

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States on a full-time basis.  We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
  • Candidates must be local to New Haven, CT and be willing to work on a full-time basis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong Excel experience a must.
  • Working knowledge of database structures and data models, enterprise data assets, data catalogues.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting requirements and managing high quality delivery
  • Proficient in SQL with hands on experience and ability to read and write code
  • Object oriented programming experience (i.e. Python or Java).
  • Self-starter, responsive and attentive, works with sense of urgency and can prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with data governance or data management systems (Collibra, Informatica, Purview, etc…) a plus.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, QlikView, Tableau) preferred.
  • May travel up to 20%. Must need to travel internationally.
  • Second language (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus.
