Commercial Development Manager

 

Duties: Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Utilize technical knowledge of Openings Studio to offer support of commercial activities including service/product development, technical design, support for product selection and use, and sales activities. Work in parallel with the Openings Studio software engineers and Openings Studio Product Owner to identify technical opportunities for growth in future-forward areas (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc.). Devise, build and evaluate innovative first-of-a-kind solutions for real-world use-cases, from research prototype to client-ready solution. Utilize at least one proficient programming language such as Python, C++, C, Java or Rust. Understand APIs/API platforms to leverage potential open integrations to maintain a competitive edge in existing and emerging markets. Utilize relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases. Work with MySQL to leverage data and existing information to create predictive models. Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of the state-of-the-art in front end development (together with an appreciation of related areas) including new technologies, open source and commercial offerings. Analyze existing and potential markets to identify and secure business development opportunities that impact the development and commercialization roadmap. Understand market trends and opportunities to develop initiatives and strategies to take advantage of these trends. Stay up to date on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cloud computing, and their potential impact on a wide variety of industries.

 

Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science or related field of study, and 5 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position using Openings Studio in a practical or field application. Experience specified must include each of the following: 5 years of experience with sales and business development within the doors, frame and hardware industry, primarily focused on architects, owners and facility managers;  5 years of experience developing and implementing commercial strategies to meet company goals and objectives; 5 years of experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint); 5 years of experience with relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases; 3 years of experience with scripting languages such as Python or Dynamo; 3 years of experience working with API platforms such as Postman, Azure API Management or Boomi Practical application; 2 years of experience planning and directing teams; and 1 year of experience with programming languages including C++, Java and Rust. Telecommuting is permitted in accordance with company policy. Can reside anywhere in the United States. Requires up to 30% domestic/international travel.
