Associate Product Manager

 

ASSA ABLOY is seeking to hire an Associate Product Manager professional who will work closely with the product management team to maintain, update, and create customer support literature. The Associate PM will be highly involved in daily reporting, literature updates, project management, product data management, and fulfillment of sales aids.

 

 

We are seeking a true collaborator who will support the Access and Egress Hardware Group under the Commercial Segment. This individual will be involved in the development of the branding efforts, marketing strategy, positioning and messaging of all products. They will be expected to aid in the New Product Development process and help lead projects from inception to launch.

 

 

This position will be full-time onsite in New Haven, CT or Berlin, CT. The candidate will be required to work outside of both locations regularly.

 

What you will be doing

 

Marketing: Collaborate closely with Product Management, Technical Media, Marketing, and Customer Service in the development and maintenance of technical marketing materials including product catalogs, price books, instruction sheets, product presentations, cut sheets, technical sheets, and order forms.

 

  • Assist in product and catalog branding efforts and conformity to ASSA ABLOY standards.
  • Create product information on new and existing products to be used by the Marketing Communications team.
  • Attend digital training as required. Collaborate with Product Management Marketing & Communications team to ensure that product category is properly represented.
  • Manage Product Management sample inventory. Process and inspect all sales samples requests and sales kits.
  • Order and manage distribution of promotional items.

 

Business Analysis: Market trends analysis regarding competitive activity & threats, business climate and potential company opportunities.

 

  • Run various reports as requested.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Media, and Product Data Management team to update price books and implement changes to ERP system.

 

New Product Development: Support new product development efforts from concept definition through product launch.

 

  • Perform research/competitor analysis as requested.
  • Create/Modify PowerPoints to showcase updates in project movement.
  • Prepare for, lead, take notes, and follow up on assigned meetings.
  • Support NPD team as needed.

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Energetic team player with passion for completion of projects and tasks
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Marketing, or Business required.
  • Must hold a minimum of 1-5 years product management, engineering, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be technically savvy with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% domestically.
  • Ability to influence and work through cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in door hardware preferred.
