Accountant

Our ASSA ABLOY Americas Headquarter location in New Haven, CT is looking to hire an Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team. This role will report to the Accounting Manager.  

What you will be doing 

The incumbent will be responsible for managing financial records and preparing financial statements. This role involves detailed financial analysis, budget preparation, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and demonstrate analytical skills to support business decisions. 
 

• Investigate drivers of monthly, quarterly, and annual trends, prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations. 

• Assist with external audit process, ensuring corporate accounting duties are fulfilled. 

• Aid in financial activities related to integrating newly acquired businesses. 

• Engage in special projects and analysis, with a mindfulness for continuous improvement.  
   

What we are looking for 
 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting 

• 3+ years of experience 

• Experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in a multi-divisional or multi-plant manufacturing setting. 

• Sound knowledge of accounting standards in line with GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus. 

• Team player who can work independently and under pressure, prioritizing tasks efficiently. 

• Attention to detail is a must, along with an emphasis on continuous improvement and strategic thinking. 

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of pivot tables, vlook-ups, and SmartView queries 

• Familiarity with Hyperion, JD Edwards, and FloQast is advantageous. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
