Door Systems/ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is seeking candidates for a Controller position in Naperville, IL.

 

The purpose of the position is to manage, develop and coordinate the control function (budgeting, planning and control) and accurate accounting of company financials and statutory reporting.  This position will have 5 direct reports and provide financial management support to the General Manager and work collaboratively with other associates in the organization.

 

Responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Manages accounting staff to ensure accurate and effective accounting, financial control and reporting procedures.
  • Ensures the accuracy & integrity of Door Systems finance statutory record while meeting all financial reporting due dates.
  • Partner with General Manager – Door Systems and staff and the ASSA ABLOY CFO and staff – work in a matrix structure.
  • Assists in business problem identification and resolution.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting for financial statements, including Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Balance Sheet, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and all local and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for internal control establishment and periodic review to ensure alignment Corporate Compliance and reporting principles.
  • Responsible for annual audit by the independent accounts of the financial statements, internal controls and resolution of management letter comments over areas of responsibility.
  • Consistently applies all accounting policies and proactively recommends updates and revisions as appropriate.
  • Manages record retention function to meet statutory requirements and corporate needs.
  • Delegates authority for receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
  • At least 5 years progressive experience within a similar role
  • Working knowledge of US corporate statutory requirements
  • Working knowledge of US Income Tax Laws
  • Working knowledge of General Sales & US Tax Laws
