Position Summary:

ASSA ABLOY is seeking an experienced Manager – Supply Chain based in Mumbai to lead procurement operations across ASSA ABLOY businesses. The role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, purchase order governance, inventory optimization, cost management, and ensuring uninterrupted supply to support business growth.

The position requires close collaboration with global and regional procurement teams, suppliers, supply chain, planning, finance, logistics, and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and execute procurement and inventory control strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead procurement function, contract management, and category management activities and align with business objectives.
  • Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and supplier consolidation initiatives along with sourcing.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, global standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end PR-to-PO processes, including order tracking and supplier coordination.
  • Review and manage open purchase orders, demand alignment, and supply continuity.
  • Collaborate with planning and operations teams to optimize inventory levels and supply availability.
  • Monitor inventory health, supplier production schedules, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Lead supply risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
  • Manage import procurement activities and coordinate logistics with suppliers and freight partners.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve supply chain disruptions.
  • Conduct spend analysis, cost reviews, and procurement performance reporting.
  • Validate supplier price revisions and drive annual savings initiatives.
  • Partner with business, finance, operations, and supply chain stakeholders to support organizational goals.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on procurement excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor procurement KPIs, dashboards, MIS reports, and supplier scorecards.
  • Ensure ERP data accuracy, governance compliance, and procurement documentation.
  • Drive automation, standardization, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor procurement teams while fostering a high-performance culture.

 

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Good knowledge of import/export and international sourcing processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Pivot Tables, Power BI, and data analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar platforms.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Educational Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
  • MBA/Postgraduate qualification preferred.

Experience

  • 8-12+ years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Materials Management.
  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing projects, and procurement operations.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, engineering, industrial products, or building solutions industries preferred.
