Position Summary:

ASSA ABLOY is seeking an Area Development Manager to oversee the distribution and key accounts channel for Home Automation, focusing on Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The candidate will manage existing channel partners, onboard new partners, and handle Automation-related projects. This role requires continuous market analysis, coordination with internal teams for product mix and pricing, and exploring new markets in the region.


Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Sales Revenue Generation through system integrators & security solution sales, meeting targets and driving growth in Gujarat & Madhya Pradesh for Yale, Home Automation.
  • Review performance of existing Home Automation channels and recommend new partner appointments to expand reach, if necessary, based on business cases and organizational criteria.
  • Focus on secondary sales, stock management, and price management for distributors.
  • Design and implement promotional schemes, with necessary approvals from the National Manager, and monitor performance.
  • Ensure timely collections from distributors and dealers, contributing to a positive cash flow.
  • Submit reports timely with thorough analysis of sales, DSO, and propose incremental sales based on promotional schemes.
  • Proactively plan for the launch of new products in the market and engage key influencers such as interior designers and architects.
  • Stay informed of market trends, competition, and customer developments.
  • Build and manage demand generation across product categories through planned activations and retail promotions.
  • Engage with security OEMs, builders, and other influencers, conducting regular product trainings and meets.
  • Ensure product visibility and counter presence in frequently visited end-customer locations.
  • Conduct market analysis and provide accurate sales forecasts and budgeting.
  • Understand wireless communication technologies like Z-Wave, Zigbee, BLE, etc.

Skills Required:

  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to present and demonstrate products effectively.
  • Knowledge of pricing, promotions, and channel management strategies.
  • Preferable experience and relationships in the Home Automation or security channels.
  • Energetic and confident, with a desire to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing environment.
  • Data analytics skills for sales forecasting and analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Negotiation skills for effective channel management.
  • Team management experience to drive performance and create a positive, energetic environment.
  • Strong communication skills (phone, email, and in-person) in English and local languages.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with additional knowledge of programming languages like C, C++, or Java being an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, ownership, and time discipline.

Qualification Criteria:

  • Graduate degree, preferably in a technical/engineering field; a postgraduate degree in management will be an added advantage.
  • 5-8 years of experience, preferably in Home Automation and Residential segments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
