Norshield Security Product (an ASSA ABLOY company) is a leading manufacturer of security doors, windows and exterior face systems for a wide range of government and commercial clients. We are expanding our Welding team and looking for several Welders. These roles will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility in Montgomery, AL.

What would you do as our Welder?

You will be responsible for day-to-day operations of welding machines to affix components as determined by weld standards and product specifications. This role involves, interpreting drawings, weldments, and moving materials while ensuring daily goals are met, jobs are logged, and quality issues are identified.

You would also:

• Operate welding machines to affix components.
• Use manual and pneumatic hand tools, including drills, impact tools, and grinders.
• Straighten and flatten welded and non-welded products and materials as necessary.
• Track and document job completions.
• Transport materials to and from the work area.
• Identify and address quality issues.
• Coordinate with engineers.
• Interpret drawings and weldments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
• Comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

The skills and experience you need:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• AWS welding certification.
• Ability to weld mild steel, galvanized, and stainless steel.
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Working knowledge of hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools.
• Understanding of blueprints, drawings, and measurements
• Working knowledge of MS Office Software and Systems; Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge or previous experience with Aluminum Welding.
• Excellent oral, active listening, and written communications skills.
• Working knowledge of painting, glazing, milling, fabrication, and assembly
