The Role:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for managing union payroll reporting across the U.S. and Canada, processing certified and prevailing wage reports and supporting both U.S. and Canadian payroll operations. This role provides direct support to employees on payroll, benefits, and timekeeping inquiries, while also serving as a backup for key payroll functions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with HR/payroll-related tasks and contributing to departmental projects and acquisition activities.
This position will report to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage union reporting (both US and Canada) accurately and in a timely manner
- Calculate and process certified/prevailing payroll reports in a timely manner including online reporting
- Assist with the processing of the Canada payroll/benefits and becoming the backup person for that position
- Assist with the US payroll entry and possibly become the processer of the off week payroll for the union people
- Provide customer service to employees regarding time and attendance, benefits and payroll questions
- Other general HR/PR functions as needed
What You Will Need:
- Detail oriented
- Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential information
- Strong time management and prioritizing skills
- Good customer service skills
- Strong PC knowledge including Excel
- Working knowledge of ADP and Payworks desired but not required
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player
